 How long have you been a proposal manager/specialist/writer?

I’ve been involved in proposals since May 2006. I also worked in project management for a year, back in 2000.

How did you become involved
 with proposals?

My background included communications, everything from writing, editing and designing to other less relevant forms (marketing, advertising, pr). I was hired for this proposal role based on my skill set and experience (see http://www.linkedin.com/in/wendybhersh  )

Do you work in a “corporate office” or “home office” environment? 

What do you like best about working in your current environment? 

What do you like least?

I work in a corporate office and enjoy my colleagues. I least enjoy the commute.

What do you feel is the most challenging aspect of your job?

Not having control over team members’ ability to comply with procedure or timelines. Wishing there was more time at the end for a better level of editing.

Giving up sleep and personal life.
