APMP Question:  How long have you been a proposal manager/specialist/
writer?

George:  25 years

APMP Question:  How did you become involved  with proposals?

George:  I first learned the proposal business by teaching proposal writing courses for Shipley Associates.

APMP Question:  Do you work in a “corporate office” or “home office” environment? 

George:  Home Office

APMP Question:  What do you like best about working in your current environment? 

George:  I can concentrate with few distractions.

APMP Question:  What do you like least?

George:  I miss the daily, face-to-face interactions with colleagues

APMP Question:  What do you feel is the most challenging aspect of your job?

George:  Helping people understand that writing about something is the only real way to truly understand the subject matter, and that writing is a very difficult, complex, intellectual task.

APMP Question:  What shortcuts or helpful best practices about working with proposal teams could you share?

George:  How to effectively organize proposals, fully integrating content against requirements, evaluation criteria, and proposal win strategies.

APMP Question:  Why did you join APMP?

George:  I actually incorporated the organization. So I was one of the first three members.

APMP Question:  What is your method for successfully working with your proposal teams?

George:  Be diligent, detailed, and relentless in my quest to demand supporting evidence to support claims made in a proposal.

APMP Question:  Which type of proposals do you do most? Commercial, government or other?

George:  Federal and commercial software proposals.
